With the world-renowned Kruger National Park right next door and the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre and Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre just a short drive away, Buffaloland is ideally located to cater for student groups interested in learning more about conservation, rehabilitation and the natural biodiversity of this corner of Africa.
Home to the Big Four, including buffalo, rhino, leopard and lion, Buffaloland also boasts hyena, zebra, giraffe, kudu, blue wildebeest, impala, warthog, nyala, waterbuck and many other other smaller species such as duiker, meerkat, steenbok and more making for an unforgettable African safari.
In birding terms, South Africa is a must for both the avid world lister and the leisure birder. Buffaloland, in particular, makes for an especially exciting photographic safari destination with more than 350 different species of birds, including the Lappet-faced Vulture, Martial Eagle, Saddle billed Stork, Kori Bustard and Southern Ground Hornbill making their homes in the natural savannah grasslands.
